CIS Primary Athletics Championships

Event Information

Parents are responsible for transporting their children to and from this event.

Competition Arena Sydney Olympic Park Athletic Centre

8:00am - 3:00pm

Trial Format 

This is an Inter-Association Championship

Parking 

$18 a day with a validated ticket. Ticket validation is available at reception.

Gates and Entry 

Via the front or back gates from 7:30 am. Nomination Fee includes program/entry.

First Aid 

There is a First Aid Room at Sydney Olympic Park Athletic Centre and an attendant will be present throughout the day. The First Aid room is under the grandstand at the end of the 100m track.

Students who use asthma puffers or Epi-Pens should have them at the Championships.

Dress and Footwear 

Association Athletic Singlet must be worn.

All competitors must wear footwear. Spiked shoes are only permitted in 100m, 200m, Relays, Long Jump and High Jump events. Spikes are not permitted in 800m or 1500m events. 

Athletes wearing spiked shoes during a crouch start MUST use starting blocks. Athletes in spikes may alternatively use a standing start. 

When spiked shoes are worn the maximum length for all track events and Long Jump is 7mm. For High Jump it is 9mm. 

All competitors and officials are advised to bring a cap, sunscreen and water bottle with them.

Food & Drink 

A canteen will be available at the venue

Wet Weather 

The CIS Primary Athletics Championships will be held regardless of the weather. Some events may be delayed or cancelled at the discretion of the Primary Athletics Committee if the nature of the event causes safety concerns in the rain.

SCAS Representative Team Selection Critieria

Students are selected for the HRIS representative team based on their performances at the HRIS Primary Athletics Carnival (18 August 2023).

Final team selection is at the discretion of HRIS.
