The successful launch of the Iona Peak Performing Arts Academy in 2022 provided an exceptional opportunity for regional students who aspire to excel in the performing arts. Iona Peak Performing Arts Academy is designed to offer our most aspirational Secondary School performing arts students the support and inspiration they need to reach their potential.
Iona Peak is about offering its students that extra step towards navigating their own development as performing artists and a path towards a fulfilling career in the entertainment industry. It does this by offering them access to a range of entrepreneurial skills, collaboration opportunities and the chance to develop individual performances rich with music, dance and theatre performance skills that best showcase their abilities.
The Academy is part of our commitment to inspire young musicians, singers, dancers and actors to continue to excel and pursue a lifelong passion for their artforms.
The Academy believes that for those who are passionate and diligent, the performing arts can equip them with skills that are more than a hobby or a brief professional pursuit. It’s a call to greatness and an opportunity to contribute and make a difference.
This philosophy is based on the belief that talent is valuable, but uniting this with a desire to grow and achieve is what makes a sustainable career possible. Students will be mentored with techniques and skills to instil self-discipline, technique and a positive work ethic.
Training the best and brightest students from around the globe to become industry-ready. The Academy will prepare students forlife-long learning and entrepreneurial skills in the vast field of performing arts and connect them to industry professionals. It will provide students with a springboard into the greater performing arts network in Australia and abroad.
The Academy offers a range of training opportunities to inspire students to create, connect and contribute across the artforms. Under the guidance of our Performing Arts faculty, students will explore respected techniques delivered by industry professionals, esteemed artists and passionate educators from across Australia and abroad.
At the heart of the Academy’s training design are the opportunities to perform and showcase student works. Academy students will participate in a range of performances throughout the year, from full-scale productions to showcases and regular Twilight Soirees in our purpose-built, state of the art Iona Theatre and recital rooms on our campus.
