The String Ensemble is open to students in Years 7 to 12 who possess intermediate or advanced skills in the violin, viola, cello, or double bass. This ensemble provides musicians with the chance to play a diverse range of challenging musical pieces and perform at a higher level. Starting in 2025, the new SCAS Orchestra will be introduced. Members of the String Ensemble and select players from the Iona Symphonic Winds Ensemble will be informed in advance about rehearsal times for the SCAS Orchestra. These sessions will prepare musicians for performing full orchestral works at various school events.
