Sport Selections Term 4, 2023
Years 7 and 8
At SCAS, we offer a range of competitive and recreational sports and activities to cater for students' interests and abilities.
Years 7 and 8 students are involved in a weekly sports program, which takes place on Mondays from 11:30am to 1:00pm. Sports choices include off-site activities held at various locations and on-site activities held on campus.
Term 4 Aquatics and APOLA accreditation (Surf Survival)
In Term 4, Year 7 students will participate in a compulsory aquatics program during elective sport time.
Students in Years 7 and 8 will have the opportunity to attempt to pass APOLA competency in Week 2 at a local pool. Those who pass the APOLA competency can advance to complete an APOLA surf survival accreditation.
Year 7 students who do not pass will remain in our aquatics program at a local pool. More advanced swimmers will participate in squad skills sessions run by the Head Coach of Port Macquarie SC, Billy Nicholson. Learn-to-swim will also be catered for at a local pool.
