We are proud to offer a comprehensive range of dance programs at St Columba Anglican School. Whether you are looking to explore dance as an art form, develop your skills, or perform at an elite level, we have a program to suit you.
Students explore similar concepts and ideas to their core subjects, through Dance and Drama. Performing Arts Hour is a deeper learning design that allows students to make connections with their classroom curriculum. The aim is to provide a unique classroom experience that builds essential communication skills and allows students to collaborate and create through experimentation, play and participation.
Based on the NESA Dance curriculum, Elective Dance explores areas of performance, composition and appreciation of dance. As an Elective subject, Dance in these secondary years develops students’ capacity for dance technique, performance quality, choreography, technology, reflection and critical appreciation.
This qualification reflects the role of individuals working in varied contexts in the dance teaching industry, providing assistance and support to teachers and students under supervision.
